As a product designer, I'm a creative problem solver dedicated to crafting user-centered designs that enhance the overall user experience. I'm passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies, and I'm always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of design.

My design process is collaborative and iterative, involving research, prototyping, and user testing to ensure functional and visually appealing products. My goal is to create products that are not only beautiful and easy to use, but also impactful and meaningful.

Figma Config 2024 In Review: A Game-Changer for Designers

Date Added:

Jun 27, 2024

As a product UX/UI designer, I'm thrilled to share my thoughts on the latest updates from Figma Config 2024. The new features and improvements have revolutionized the way I work, saving me time and boosting my productivity.

Figma AI: A New Era of Design Efficiency

Figma AI is a game-changer. With its ability to automate tedious tasks and generate realistic images and copy, I can focus on high-level design decisions and creative problem-solving. The Visual Search feature is a personal favorite, allowing me to quickly find what I need with a simple screenshot or sketch. It's amazing to see how Figma AI can understand the context behind my search queries and provide relevant results.

UI3: A Redesigned Figma for the Modern Designer

The new UI3 is a breath of fresh air. The more immersive canvas, component-centered UI, and sleek icon set make it easier for me to navigate and work within Figma. I appreciate how the redesign respects my muscle memory and workflow patterns while introducing new features and surfaces to accommodate the evolving needs of designers.

Figma Slides: A Seamless Design-to-Prototype Experience

Figma Slides has streamlined my design-to-prototype workflow. With the ability to create interactive designs and prototypes directly within Figma, I can test and validate my ideas faster than ever before. The seamless integration with Figma's design tools makes it easy to iterate and refine my designs.

Dev Mode Updates: A Developer's Best Friend

As a designer who works closely with developers, I'm excited about the updates to Dev Mode. The new Focus View allows developers to tune out distractions and focus on what's ready to build, making it easier for us to collaborate and bring designs to life.

Conclusion

Figma Config 2024 has set a new standard for design tools. The innovative features and improvements have transformed the way I work, saving me time and enabling me to focus on what matters most – creating exceptional user experiences. If you're a product UX/UI designer like me, I highly recommend exploring these new features and experiencing the benefits for yourself.

Config 2024 in review

Today, June 27, 2024, marks a significant milestone in the world of design. We're thrilled to introduce Figma AI, UI3, and Figma Slides, along with major updates to Dev Mode and improvements to your favorite Figma features.

Join the Beta

Figma AI and UI3 are currently in limited beta and will be rolling out gradually. You can join the beta directly from Figma: Navigate to the bottom of the screen, click on the "?" and select Join UI3 + AI waitlist. Check out our Help Center for more info.

The last few decades of software have been marked by exponential growth. This trend is far from over. In a world where AI will be able to output fully-functioning interfaces from a simple prompt, design is more important than ever. In fact, design is what will differentiate great products from the obvious solutions, and our job is to help you explore the option space of possibilities. Today we're launching many features to support that end-to-end process and unblock creativity so teams can bring their best ideas to life.

Figma AI: Think Bigger and Build Faster

With AI, going from idea to product is more tangible than ever. At Figma, we have a unique perspective (and challenge!) on the role of AI in design because our design team builds for other designers. That's why it's especially important for us to look beyond the hype and anchor our work in real user needs.

Visual Search: Find What You're Looking For

We know that working on a new project doesn't always mean starting from scratch—and it can be tough to locate a production screenshot or existing component. We're introducing Visual Search to help you more easily find what you're looking for with a single reference. Search for anything from icons to entire design files with a screenshot, a selected frame, or even a simple sketch with the pencil tool, and Figma will pull in similar designs from team files you have access to. And with improved Asset Search, Figma now uses AI to understand the context behind your search queries. You can easily discover assets—even if your search terms don't match their names.

Efficiency Updates: Stay in the Flow

Designers spend a lot of time on tedious tasks that take away from the work they want to be doing. We're launching a bundle of AI features to automate these tasks and help you work more efficiently. With these new capabilities, you can generate realistic images and copy, riff on and rewrite text, automatically wire up prototypes, and rename layers in a click.

Make Designs: A Better Way to Get Started

Faced with a blank canvas and don't know where to start? Make Designs, which lives in the new Actions panel, allows you to quickly generate UI layouts and component options from text prompts. Just describe what you need, and Figma will provide a first draft to help you explore various design directions and kickstart your process.
